Project description
[Learning] To Make A Place is a way of re-thinking the approach to regeneration in the city by uncovering and celebrating forms of land value beyond the conventional, profit-driven developments of inner-city London. The project imagines an alternate future for Hackney College in Hoxton, seeking to retain and enrich the educational character of the site. The project develops a piece of city that serves the community through a programme including learning, leisure and public amenity. The adoption of a site specific regeneration strategy is intended to improve the social and ecological infrastructures in and around the site. Therefore, the regeneration approach embodies an architecture of care, cultivating and nurturing social and ecological systems.
