Project description
Higher Goal: Re-establishing the church in the community by refocusing the resources and value systems to support the most vulnerable. Growing the church by investing in the growth of the community it exists to serve. Bringing the congregation into connection with the members of community in need of purpose.
Objective: Providing a campus for homeless youth. Creating meaningful connections with existing community programmes that would give purpose to them. This would involve creating spaces which foster interaction between the ageing congregation of the church and the youth in need of a community connection.
Strategy: Taking influence from both historical and contemporary precedents, utilise existing lands and properties owned by the Church of England in the Parish. Creating a holistic homeless provision with move-on accommodation, learning and support spaces, alongside avenues for community interaction with the church as the core of the programme.
