Goal & objective
Wasteline responds to an urgent call by activist groups to review the North London Waste Authority’s plans to continue incinerating our waste. As an alternative to incineration, Wasteline speculates on an innovative process of using waste as the raw material for additive manufacturing. In doing so, the project maps out a new relationship between Londoners and our waste.
Strategy
A social programme relating to the acts of learning, reflecting and making, which are strategically co-located alongside waste-management infrastructure to ignite new modes of thinking and to develop innovations in making.
Impact
As the centre and beating heart of this emerging process, Wasteline would reduce the amount of incinerated waste in north London by 80 per cent. Additionally, the project would forge a conscious relationship between people and waste.
